We at Discount Equestrian, like so many, have monitored the Corona Virus situation closely since it first emerged.  The situation has constantly evolved so over time we have introduced nessesary measures at our retail store, office and warehouse locations to protect our staff and customers.

We will keep this page up to date with the latest changes at Discount Equestrian and how they will effect our service.

 

Online Ordering

The majority of orders to our online customers have not been affected however, we are sometimes seeing unexpected delays with both deliveries to ourselves and on occasions deliveries to our customers from the couriers we use such as Royal Mail, DPD and UPS.  This is due to the sheer volume of parcels on their network and also the reduced staffing at courier processing facilities due to social distancing at work being put in place.  These delays have had a knock on effect with some of our customer deliveries.   95% of customer orders are still being delivered within the given standard UK delivery time frame of up to 5 working days (Monday to Friday)  but on occasions it has been taking up to 5-10 working days.  If you have been effected with a delay beyond the standard time frame, please be assured that we are making every effort to get your orders to you as quickly as possible. 

Some of our suppliers that were closed, such as Tech Stirrups, KASK hats and De Niro have now reopened and are accepting new orders.

As of 24th March we are have made the decision to close our offices and store on Wednesdays and Sundays.  This will mean there may be up to a 24hr delay on orders that would typically be processed or displatched on Wednesday's.  No dispatch is carried out on Sundays so this will have no effect to online orders.

Europeam and Worldwide Shipments

Deliveries to destinations outside of the UK is an ever evolving situation.  Various goverments such as Spain and Italy are imposing restrictions so obviously deliveries to counties like these will be affected however, there are many destinations where deliveries are still continuing.   Please check if there are restrictions in place for your country or territory before placing your order.  Otherwise, we usually detect when booking an overseas shipment whether a country has a restriction in place, so in these instances we will contact you and offer a refund etc.

Elwick Retail Store

As of the 24th March we have impossed further measures at our Elwick retail store.  We have placed a limit of two customers in our store at a time. Our aim is to retain the safe 2m distance between staff and customers as required by the government.  We ask that when you arrive at the Elwick store, if the window displays a Red card, you wait outside until a customer has left the store before entering.  

Because of the goverments safe distance policy, during this period we will not be providing any fitting service for items such as riding hats, riding boots or body protectors.

We recommend, if it's possible, to instead place your orders on our website and utilise the "Collect in store" delivery option at the checkout.  As soon as your order is ready to collect we will contact you via email, text or phonecall. Our members of staff will bring your order to your vehicle so you can load it.  At all times we wish to preserve a safe distance between staff and customers.

We request that customers continue to use the hand sanitizer provided when you enter the store.

Feed and Bedding

Customer Service

We are still available for any customer service queries via email, telephone and Facebook messenger.  Our current office and Elwick store collection point opening times are below.  If you send us a message on Tuesday evening or Wednesday, please allow extra time for a response due to us being closed on Wednesdays and our reduction in staff numbers to try and keep all staff at a safe working distance from one another.

Monday to Tuesday: 9am to 5pm
Wednesday: Closed
Thursday to Friday: 9am to 5pm
Saturday: 10am to 3pm
Sunday: Closed

We are sorry if these measures cause you distruption.  We are doing our very best to remain open as much as possible whilst keeping our staff safe.  Should you be unable to attend at the times shown please contact us as we may be able to offer alternative opening times or delivery of your feed depending on location and staff availability.  We sincerely hope all our customers stay safe and well during this time and resume our usual operating hours in the near future.
