    The starting size, based on your chest measurement.

    • Over light clothing, place a tape measure close up under the arms & measure the fullest part of the chest.

    • The correct size should be a snug fit within the adjustment available from the side, without being too tight or restrictive.

    The correct fit option, based on your body length.

    • From your natural tipping point at the front (approx 1" below the ribs), up over the shoulder & down to the level point on the back.

    • The correct fit should ensure the foam segments at the front are long enough to cover the bottom ribs, whilst not being too long to restrict movement.

    The correct back option, based on your back length.

    • Take a back measurement from the C7 vertebrae (prominent one at the base of your neck) down to where the body protector should finish.

    • Sat in the saddle, measure down to approx 3/4 finger width clearance above the seat.  

    • The correct fit should provide both lower back protection & a full range of movement, without the saddle interfering.

    This Hows RaceSafe RS2010 Body Protector features the RS2010 specification and is available in a wide range of colours in both childrens and adult sizes.  This is the child's single colour version, we have another listing named with Child's Two Colour if you require your Racesafe to be made with two different colours.  Racesafe provide 22 different colours to choose from so you will bound to find something to fit in with your colour coordinated attire.

    Both the child's and adult versions of RaceSafe Body Protectors meet level 3 which is the newest European and Beta Standard.  The Child's Race Safe Body Protectors are of course suitable for competition riders but are very popular with parents who want the highest level of protection possible for there child whether in lessons, hacking out, jumping or at competition use. 
    A Child's Race Safe Body Protector is designed for the utmost comfort and freedom of movement as it is made from individually hinged sections of foam which is unique in the industry, they move and contort to the riders movement. 
    They now come complete with a great new physical restraint feature on the side adjusters which helps prevent unprotected areas becoming present.

    Please note we do not always have all sizes of the Racesafe Body Protectors in stock, anything not in stock in store will be made for you by Racesafe and can take up to 4 - 6 weeks to be made and delivered.  At the moment all colours are special order items, we are unable to cancel the order once it has been placed.  We will only accept returns of plain Navy or Black body protectors in standard sizes for exchange, other colours or bespoke sizes we cannot accept back for exchange or refund.  If you would like confirmation of lead time, require a bespoke size or are unsure which size to order please contact us 01429 864112 or email sales@discount-equestrian.co.uk with your measurements.

    Which beta standard is this racesafe rs2010 please? I’m looking for a child XL reg in navy.
    It is the highest European & BETA Level 3 protection. Certified to BS EN13158:2018 (Level 3).
