The Keratex® hoof care brand was established in 1990 and remains a family-run business. Their flagship product, Keratex® Hoof Hardener, continues to remain popular today.
Here’s the Keratex® story, “Dr John Irving MBE, PhD, C Eng, Fraes founded the business based on his idea for Hoof Hardener in Wiltshire, UK. He successfully patented the product, and Dr Irving was at the helm of the business until he passed away in 2011. The Keratex range has grown well over the years and still continues to expand with an ever-increasing global network of suppliers. The Keratex Hoofcare product range grows and develops by working through common problems and issues relating to horses’ hooves and finding solutions using experience, science and technical knowledge. Our products are farrier, rider and groom endorsed, and have been in several Olympic forges in the past two decades. We have worked closely with the UK’s Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD), and America’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on our products.”
The Keratex Hoof care brand started and continues today as a family-run business beginning with the creation of the Keratex Hoof Hardener product back in 1991. This continues today as the company's flagship product which was thought up and created by Dr John Irving who founded the Keratex business in Wiltshire United Kingdom with the now well known hoof hardener. The Keratex Hoof Hardener was then patented and Dr Irving continued running the business until he passed away in 2011.
The philosophy of the company is quite simply to take on board common hoof problems found by equestrians and work towards a solution by using science along with Keratex's huge knowledge and experience. The Keratex range is used and endorsed by veterinarians and farriers all over the world, the company also continues to work closeley with America's Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Veterinary Medicines Directoriate (VMD).
