It is important to have provisions in case your horse has to be stabled for an extended length of time due to illness or injury. Research has proven that horses who suffer boredom whilst stabled are more likely to develop behavioural issues such as crib biting, wind sucking, and door kicking – not to mention destructive habits! Preventing boredom in the stable will prevent the development of, or minimise the effect of pre-existing, behavioural issues.
