Front and Rear Riser Pads

Despite our best efforts to ensure our horses’ saddles fit correctly, there can be times between saddle fittings during which our horse changes shape, and their saddle doesn’t quite fit. Various Riser pads are often a must have on busy competition yards where a few different saddles may be used on many different Horses, and provide the tweak you need to the fit.

Gel Riser Pads

Here at Discount Equestrian, we’re proud of our excellent range of Riser Pads. A riser pad relieves pressure along your horse’s spine, though there are a variety of styles to choose from based on your horse’s needs. Depending on the material a riser pad is manufactured from, typically Gel or Memory Foam. A Gel Riser Pad can prove particularly invaluable if you’re wanting to stop your horse’s saddle from slipping – which is ideal for rounder shaped horses, especially in the summer months!

Memory Foam Riser Pads

Sometimes, if your horse has high withers, they’ll benefit from a Memory Foam riser pad designed to fit at the front end of the saddle directly beneath the pommel – which tends to be best for Thoroughbred types. However, if your horse is sensitive toward the rear of the saddle, beneath the cantle area, a riser pad fitting the rear aspect of a saddle is best for your horse.
