You may be asking: ‘what is the difference between breeches, Riding Tights and jodhpurs?’

Jodhpurs and LeMieux Tights are an evolved form of breeches. Traditionally, breeches had fastenings to fit the lower leg, whereas tights and jodhpurs have always been designed to hug the lower leg more tightly without the need for extra fastenings. Breeches were originally designed to flare out either side of the rider’s thighs to allow for a greater range of movement – although nowadays, thanks to advancements in fabric technology, flared breeches tend to only be seen in historical reenactments or in the uniform worn by cavalry during public displays. In retrospect, variations in the design of LeMieux breeches, riding tights and jodhpurs have evolved drastically to share properties such as an enhanced choice of varying types of material, many more colour options, and an exciting array of new styles emerging every year.
