Merino wool is – as you might have guessed – from a breed of sheep known as ‘Merino’ sheep. These sheep are an Australian breed that have been renowned for producing the finest quality wool for centuries. Due to their surprisingly adaptable nature, Merino sheep can thrive in a variety of climates and the farming practices involved in caring for them are largely sustainable. As of yet, there are no manmade fibres capable of reaching the height of splendour afforded by the soft, luxurious qualities of Merino wool. In fact, the silk-feel of Merino wool has been acknowledged to rival the qualities of cashmere!
